European Karate Organization (EKO)

The European Karate Organization (EKO) Shinkyokushinkai is a prominent governing body for full-contact karate in Europe, dedicated to preserving and promoting the principles of Budo Karate as established by Sosai Masutatsu Oyama. EKO operates under the umbrella of the World Karate Organization (WKO), ensuring alignment with international standards and fostering a unified approach to the sport across the continent.

EKO’s primary mission is to stimulate and promote all aspects of Budo Karate, focusing on creating a safe, transparent, and inspiring environment for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and physical abilities to practice Shinkyokushinkai full-contact karate. The organization emphasizes the development of character, discipline, and respect, both within and outside the dojo. EKO is composed of officially recognized national organizations, each led by democratically elected board members, ensuring that decisions reflect the collective interests of the European karate community.
